KUALA LUMPUR: Local artiste Hannah Tan’s early birthday present this year will certainly be memorable – the honour of being the first Malaysian to produce an album in Japan.

The Penang-born Hannah whose 28th birthday falls on Oct 25, has just signed a RM6mil production deal with Japan’s Fillmore Far East Inc to produce five Japanese pop albums within two years.

“I feel really honoured,” said Hannah who signed the deal with Fillmore Far East at her office yesterday.

 SS501 in Wonderful Korea Concert

According to media report in Korea, SS501, G-Dragon, SG Wanne Be and other Hallyu star will gather in the ‘Wonderful Korea Concert’ held at Seoul Olympic Park Fencing Hall on 27 Sept.

This concert is held for promoting the ‘2009 Korea Grand Sale’ to oversea. ‘2009 Korea Grand Sale’ campaign’s goal is to promote South Korea tourism, the theme is ‘Vibrant South Korea’. This is in preparation for the “visit Korea Year” from 2010 to 2012.

Actor Jeong Jun Ho is selected as the ambassador for this campaign. Jeong Jun Ho reveal: “During the promotion period, I will promote the rich culture of Korea.’ The campaign organizer, Korea Tourist Association chairman expressed: “Different from previous years, now more and more visitors come for shopping, medical treatment and cultural experience.s Also, there are visitors who purposely visit for shopping, concert and other events.”

Kim Hyun Joong recovered from H1N1, back in Korea

Remember our post about SS501’s Kim Hyun Joong being diagnosed with H1N1? If you haven’t heard the latest news, he’s now recovered from it, and is now resting in his home in Korea!

SS501 Kim HyunJoong returned back to Korea at Gimpo Airport on 16-Sep at 2.25pm. Having recovered from H1N1 influenza, he was discharged from hospital on 15-Sep and came to show himself in front of his fans on 16-Sep.

Kim HyunJoong arrived at Gimpo airport on 16-Sep at 2.25pm on flight OZ1015, he appeared with a light blue mask and black cap. Kim HyunJoong looks a little thinner and his face is pale, he talked about his current condition to the fans.

Kim HyunJoong said “Thank you to many of you who came here. I will become healthy again soon, so as not to let many of you worry, I will show it through my activities.” Kim HyunJoong has recovered from H1N1 influenza, but is still having slight fever resulted from the accompanying sore throat. During the short interview on this day, he is unable to raise his voice to talk. He seems to be haggard and still not completely recovered yet.

After a short interview on his arrival, Kim HyunJoong was escorted out of the airport by 4 managers. Even DSP Entertainment CEO Lee HoYeon came to the airport for Kim HyunJoong’s arrival. The company took extra precautions to take care of Kim HyunJoong’s safety.

Gimpo airport considered and suggested for Kim HyunJoong to use the secret passage instead of the main door out, however Kim HyunJoong said “I have to go and greet the fans who are waiting” showing strong will to use the normal passage way on his arrival. There are about 300 fans at the airport on this day, waiting for about 1 hour prior to his arrival. There are huge banners hung in the arrival hall, wishing for Kim HyunJoong’s good health. Kim HyunJoong’s parents who went over to Japan to look after him, returned first on 15-Sep after he was discharged.

SS501 which Kim HyunJoong belongs to, will be releasing their official album end of this month, all activities are put on halt for the time being so that he is able to rest.

Kim HyunJoong attended to KBS drama ‘Boys Over Flowers’ promotional event in Yokohama Japan on 5~6 Sep, and developed high fever which later confirmed to be H1N1 influenza and had to be admitted to hospital to receive treatment. One member from SS501’s dance team was also diagnosed with H1N1 influenza on 10-Sep.

 Bae Yong Joon Out Of Hospital

When we read about our favourite South actor Bae Yong Joon being hospitalized, it reminded us of SS501’s Kim Hyun Joong, who fainted several times this year alone, due to overwork and stress. But we’re sure glad to hear he’s now out of the hospital!

POPULAR South Korean actor Bae Yong Joon was discharged from a hospital on Monday after five days of treatment.

The 37-year-old was hospitalised for septicemia caused by extreme fatigue and stress, reported Yonhap news agency.

Bae’s management agency said he was admitted to a Seoul hospital on Thursday after his blood pressure and blood sugar levels fell sharply. Tests showed him to be suffering from early stages of septicemia.

Said an agency official: ‘Bae has lost a lot weight and appears to have grown weaker after working hard over the past year on a book that looks into the issue of Korean aesthetics.’

On Tuesday, the actor will attend an event to promote the publication of his book at the National Museum of Korea. He will also be present at promotional events for an animation version of Winter Sonata and his book in Tokyo from Sept 29-30.

Gosh, just as we thought we’re done with the KPop news for the day, we just received another one: SS501’s leader Kim Hyun Joong has been diagnosed with Swine Flu, or the H1N1.

 SS501 leader and Boys Over Flowers star, Kim Hyun Joong, has been diagnosed with swine flu. The singer turned actor was in Japan to promote his hit drama series over the weekend, from 5 - 6th September. During the promotions, he had shown signs of a fever and a headache, which caused him to miss his activities on the 6th.

A representative from DSP Media gave a formal statement saying, “Kim Hyun Joong was scheduled for a flight, at 12pm on the 7th of September, he had passed through immigration without any problems but later in the afternoon, due to a sudden change to his health, he was taken to the emergency room instead.“

While in the ER, it was diagnosed that the star had swine flu, and the representative says that the star is being treated but has to remain under further observation for more tests, causing him to remain in Japan. Kim Hyun Joong’s manager has been sent to the hospital to check on the matter and will inform the public with more details when available. It’s not known whether his SS501 members and the other F4 cast were tested for symptoms of H1N1 upon arrival in Korea.

Hello, This is DSP.

Last week 5~6 Sept, when attending Boys Over Flowers event at Pacifico Yokohama, SS501’s Leader, Kim Hyun Joong had some problems with his health.

On the 6th, he was suppose to attend Hanryu Fondue recording, but as he was down with slight fever, he did not attend. Kim Hyun Joong condition got better and was able to perform on stage on the very night as he had promised to the fans.

On the 7th, he was suppose to take the 12pm flight back to Korea when he was suddenly down with a high fever in the morning. He was sent to the hospital and was diagnosed with influenza (H1N1).

Kim Hyun Joong is now is having treatment at one of the hospitals in Japan. The local doctor has given him tamiflu and his condition has turned better. From now onwards, he will need to take a good rest in order to recover.

DSP Media related parties and manager are with him checking on this condition. Once his conditions become better, they have the intentions to bring him back to Korea.

Status of the upcoming activities are not confirmed.
