Take Me Back Tuesday #1: All The Young Dudes
For the first time ever, TV & Music Junkie will have a Take Me Back Tuesday, sort of like a blast from the past kind of thing. And for the first Take Me Back Tuesday, we will be looking back at Mott the Hoople with their song, All the Young Dudes. It was released as a single in July, 1972, and did you know that David Bowie actually wrote this song for them in an effort for the band to stay together? Bowie even sang in the background in this song!
Okay, why this song? Simple. Guitar Hero Aerosmith! That’s our favourite song in that version of Guitar Hero, not only because it is quite easy to play, but the guitar solo is excellent in this song! Also, we are just fans of slow rock, as opposed to heavy metal and fast beat kind of rock songs.
Also, have you gotten your tickets yet for Mott the Hoople 40th Anniversary Reunion this October in Hammersmith Apollo in London? Heard they were all sold out shows, so just pray that they will hold more reunion concerts, eh?
Here is the video clip of Mr. Mott the Hoople himself, Mr. Ian Hunter singing All the Young Dudes, with David Bowie and Mick Ronson and others at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert on April 1992. The guitar solo is still excellent, huh?

I haven’t played Guitar Hero in a couple of months. There was one time that I played all night until I had to wake Buddy to go to school. My hubs didn’t even realize i didn’t go to bed! LOL! Teruk ohhh!
I’ve only played a couple of songs on Guitar Hero: Aerosmith when i went back for New Year that time in KK. Here, there’s only the GH:WT. But cool song by the way.. I know my hubs is gonna love this!! He’s soooo old school rock.
And a great theme to have, btw!
