ACM Entertainer of the Year, Carrie Underwood

Published by CurrentHitz at 11:52 pm under music Edit This

So have you heard about Carrie Underwood winning the Entertainer of the Year at the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 5, 2009?

This is a big deal because it has been 9 years since a female had won this title, with the group Dixie Chicks being the last group that had won this award in the year 2000, and overall, Carrie Underwood is the 7th female to win this since the award was founded in 1970.

It’s really great to see her doing so well in her singing career after American Idol. She sure has the voice that can go far in the country music industry, and the looks to go with it.

And even though this performance is a few weeks old (it was shown on American Idol sometime in March ‘09), I still play it at least once a day, as I believe this live version is by far much better than the studio version. Have a listen to Carrie Underwood duet with Randy Travis on his song, I told You So. Such a beautiful performance; it brings tears to my eyes everytime I watch this.
