I would once in a while take you all back in time to check out some songs that never got famous in this part of the world: Asia.
So Blast In The Past this week is from Augustana, with their song called Boston.
I first knew about Augustana when I was watching one of the episodes of The Hills (sorry I don’t remember which season nor which particular episode). But I remembered hearing this lullaby, and I’ve always wanted to do a search on it, but have somehow forgotten to do it.. until recently. I’ve found the piano version of this song, and I personally this song better. You can have a listen and watch the original music video here .
Here’s my favourite version of Boston. It’s not the music video, but take a listen to the song; it’s beautiful. Love the piano part. Enjoy.
I have posted something about the movie Cadillac Records previously, and for this Saturday, I would like to highlight one of my favourite songs on the soundtrack, which is Once In A Lifetime, sung by Beyonce. (she also starred in the movie, playing the role of Etta James)
I love that this song feels classic, and yet fresh at the same time. To me, I feel like this is a very soothing song to listen to. A lullaby as some calls it. How about you listen to it and judge for yourself and let me know what you think of this song?
This song is already a regular on the radio stations ever since it came out late last year, so I am sure most of you would know about this song by now.
But if you still don’t know, James Morrison duets with Nelly Furtado in this single called Broken Strings. It is a sad song really, especially the part that goes “The truth hurts, but lies worse”. How very true.
Love this song. Have a listen if you still have not heard it, and you will understand what I mean. I have also included the lyrics for your viewing pleasure.
Due to the busy schedule, I have actually missed the first 12 episodes of the teleserye Kahit Isang Saglit aka A Time For Us shown here in Malaysia on RTM2! (time of show: 12.30pm every weekdays)
And when I watched it this afternoon, I was disappointed that they didn’t use the official Martin Nievera’s song called Kahit Isang Saglit for their opening and closing song. Instead they use an English song which I have never heard before. All I know is that the new song is pretty boring. Too bad.
And today’s show was about when Garie (played by Malaysian actress Carmen Soo) have already reached the Philippines, and spent the night at the PDEA station, and the next time at Nestor’s house, and ended with Rocky (played by Jericho Rosales) teaching Garie how wash clothes.
I think this series shown on RTM2 in the middle of the afternoon is a pretty bad idea, because not only will most of us miss it, there are no reruns like how we’re used to with the past teleseryes shown on Astro Prima (shown at 9pm every weekday AND reruns the next morning). And their promotion on this show is really bad as well. NOBODY else here in Malaysia is talking about it on the blogosphere, and I’m sure it’s because they didn’t know this show would be aired at that time and station.
Like I said, too bad. This is a very good teleserye. For those missed episodes, I guess I just have to wait for the DVD to watch them again. To those of you who haven’t seen this show yet, here’s an extended trailer, which includes the introduction of each cast.
